MENTORSHIP

The FCMB SheVentures Mentorship Program is a 12-week extensive curriculum-based program designed to support Nigerian businesswomen with high potential progress into leadership positions and enhance key business skills. This programme provides beneficiaries the knowledge, guidance, motivation, emotional support and role modelling needed to grow successful businesses.

The SheVentures Mentorship Program creates an environment where issues can be openly discussed, and constructive conversations had with successful businesswomen who can provide useful advice. It also provides the opportunity to empower female entrepreneurs to scale and build businesses that will outlast them, as well as improve the overall success rate of businesses owned or run by women in Nigeria.

On Tuesday, July 30th, 2019, FCMB held an exit interview for more than 50 women entrepreneurs who had gone through a 3-month long Mentorship Programme under its SheVentures proposition.

The event, which held at the Adeola Hopewell, Lagos branch of FCMB, featured training on Digital Marketing, Tax Issues and a panel discussion on the challenges facing women-owned or led small businesses in Nigeria today.

On the panel were the Group Head, Business Banking, FCMB, George Ogbonnaya; Founder, Exquisite Magazine, Tewa Onasanya; CEO/Founder, BathKandyCo., Blondie Okpuzor; and VP, Business Development/Customer Service, Jumia Travel, Omolara Adagunodo.

Also, at the event were Divisional Head, Transactional Banking, FCMB, Rolayo Aikhigbe; MD/Founder Future Software Resources Limited, Nkem Begho; CEO, Caizen Business Development Company, Bella Ikeme; and Tax consultant, KPMG, Adetola Aibangbee.

The FCMB SheVentures proposition is a passionate response by the Bank to empower female entrepreneurs, as well as help, improve the overall success rate of businesses owned or run by women in Nigeria

On Friday, 16th of August 2019, the second edition of the SheVentures Mentorship Program kicked off with a meet-up by both mentees and mentors. The event which held at FCMB Adeola Hopewell Branch in Lagos featured mentor matching, as well as an interactive panel session on the importance of data and financial management to the success of businesses.

The SheVentures Mentorship initiative is a 12-week curriculum-based extensive program organized in collaboration with WISCAR. It provides female entrepreneurs an opportunity to connect, network and drive sustainable advancement in their personal and professional lives.

At the event were high profile mentors such as Habiba Balogun - Director & Principal Consultant, Habiba Balogun Consulting; Toki Mabogunje – Deputy President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce / Principal Partner, Toki Mabogunje Consulting; Dada Alamutu – Partner, TAO Alamutu & Partners; and Arinola Adeniyi – Founder & Spa Director, Venivic Health Club & Urban Spa. Others were Jadesola Adedeji – ED, STEM METS Resources; Amara Agbim – Founder/CEO, Nanny Academy; Bike Badeji – Managing Partner, Aragrove LTD/Founder SIGOJA; and Lamiah Momoh – Network marketer/ Executive Coach.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2019, the third edition of the SheVentures Mentorship Program kicked off with a meet-up by both mentees and mentors. The event which held at FCMB Adeola Hopewell Branch in Lagos featured mentor matching,orientation session to discuss the SheVentures program layout and expected outcomes, as well as a masterclass on “The Woman behind the business” handled by Esther Longe 

The SheVentures program is more than a traditional training and mentoring program. We are pioneering a robust program, designed through research and inputs from top consultants. We have put together a well-rounded approach for the Woman and Her Business. FCMB is committed to helping the Women on the SheVentures program in areas of their mindset and personal development. The businesses can only be as good as the women are.
